Naft went top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) with a comfortable 4-1 win over Gostaresh in Tehran.

On Sunday, Naft humiliated Gostaresh at the Takhti Stadium. Rasool Navidkia bagged a brace in the 27th and 53rd minutes. Vouria Ghafouri dispatched his penalty in the 35th minute and Ali Qorbani scored Naft’s fourth goal.

Fardin Abedini pulled a goal back in the 86th minute for Gostaresh.

Esteghlal remained on track for the title with a 1-0 win over Foolad in Ahvaz. Unmarked Arash Borhani scored the only goal of the match in the 23rd minute.

Persepolis missed an opportunity to go top of the table after being held to a 2-2 draw by Rah Ahan.

The popular team moved down to fourth place in the table.

Elsewhere, Mes played out a goalless draw against Saba, Malavan lost its home game to Sepahan 3-2, Struggling Zob Ahan beat Damash 2-1, Saipa drew 0-0 with Fajr Sepasi and Tractor Sazi edged Esteghlal Khuzestan 1-0.

Naft moved to top of the table with 54 points on goal difference, followed by Foolad, Esteghlal and Persepolis.
